Tottenham v Leicester Free Tips & Match Preview

Tottenham Hottspur missed a golden opportunity to move to the top of the EPL table when they drew 0-0 against a lowly Bournemouth. A 62 per cent possession did not help the Spurs’ cause. Striker Harry Kane’s absence is beginning to show by way of Spurs’ inability to get goals when needed. Mauricio Pochettino’s men will host reigning champions Leicester City at White Hart Lane on October 29. Leicester City maintained their good record at home games when they overcame Crystal Palace 3-1 at the King Power stadium last Saturday. But it’s their away record that has let them down this season. Four away losses have seen them struggle at the 12th place on the EPL table with just 11 points to their credit.Ahmed Musa,Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani will have to reproduce the kind of enterprise they showed in their outing with Crystal Palace if they to come up with any worthwhile result at White Hart Lane on October 29. Goalie Schmeichel along with Danny Simpson, Wes Morgan and Robert Huth will have their work cut out at the back line and they sorely need to stem the flow of goals conceded in their away games (13 from 9 Premier League games so far).

For the Spurs, striker Vincent Janssen’s elusive form will probably not find him featuring in the starting XI against Leicester. Pochettino will probably go with the same eleven he fielded against Bournemouth, viz. Lloris (goal); Walker, Vertonghen, Dier; Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Del Alli, Lamela; Son Heung-min.

Given Spurs’ incredible record of not having conceded a goal from open play in their 9 outings so far in this Premier League season, it looks very unlikely that Claudio Raineri’s men will be able to make any sort of dent in the hosts’ defence. Despite the paucity of goals, Pochettino’s men will in all likelihood get their three points on Saturday and claw back into the top four of the table. Tottenham are currently at the 5th spot with 19 points, just one behind Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool’s 20 points.

In light of Leicester’s dismal away form, bookmakers are betting on Tottenham to emerge victors from Saturday’s clash.
