Tottenham Hotspur vs West Bromwich Albion – Free Tips & Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur are finding their titles hopes fading fast after Saturday’s 0-2 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates. The Lilywhites are now a clear 11 points behind League leaders Manchester City and struggling to stay in the Top four. However Mauricio Pochettino’s boys have the opportunity to make amends when they host a beleaguered West Bromwich Albion at the Wembley this weekend. Manager Tony Pulis’s job’s on the line after the Baggies succumbed to their 4th consecutive Premier League defeat, this time 0-4 to Chelsea on their own patch, the Hawthorns stadium. After winning their first two fixtures of the 2017-18 season, West Brom haven’t managed a single win from their next 10 games. It could be the final nail in the coffin for Pulis when his team visit Wembley to take on Tottenham Hotspur on the 25th. West Brom who are now hovering in relegation territory could slip deeper post their clash against a Tottenham side who exactly haven’t been at their best since their spectacular UEFA Champions League win over Real Madrid earlier this month.

The Spurs have been hamstrung by a less-than-fit Harry Kane and Del Alli, after his sterling performance against Real, has been way below his best in the following games, including the one at Emirates against Arsenal. Tottenham dominated possession in the Emirates clash, but forwards Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen (who was so lethal in Denmark’s recent 1-5 win over Ireland), Ben Davies and Alli lacked goal-mouth imagination.

Davison Sanchez, Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen and Kieran Trippier who were kept so busy in the defence by an aggresive Arsenal, are hardly likely to be tested at Wembley by a West Brom attack that has found goals scarce to come by. The Baggies’ tally of 9 goals from 12 games is a statistic that isn’t going to worry the Spurs.Jay Rodriguez has been their highest scorer with just two goals to his account.

History is very much against the visiting Baggies, who have won just one of their 11 games against Spurs since 2012.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men can expect to collect 3 easy points from this one and remain entrenched in the Top Four of the Premier League table for some time. Bookmakers obviously are wagering on a comfortable win for the hosts as the odds below suggest.

Spurs in the meantime make a mid-week trip to Germany to play Borussia Dortmund in a UEFA Champions League group clash, where they probably will not be too worried about the outcome being a clear 8 points ahead of their rivals.
