Match Preview and Tips: Germany v France

The reigning World champions face the hosts of Euro 2016 in a crunch tie at Stade Velodrome in Marseille on July 7th.

It certainly is a clash worthy of a final as two genuinely world-class teams go head-to-head. France are unarguably one of the best sides on paper while the Germans have immensely talented players in all areas of the field.

The reigning European champions Spain have been dethroned and it is quite likely that one of these two international teams will clinch the trophy on July 10th. Germany have won the Euros on three occasions while the French have lifted the trophy twice. German’s last triumph in the continental tournament came in 1996 while France defeated the Italians in the final of Euro 2000.

France have played Germany 27 times prior to their meeting on Thursday. France have won 12 and lost 10 of those fixtures against Die Mannschaft. Les Bleus are the favourites in this big clash against Joachim Low’s men.

Didier Deschamps’ team scored five goals past minnows Iceland in the quarter-finals while the Germans managed a narrow victory over Antonio Conte’s Italy in the previous round. Italy lost 6 -5 in the penalty shoot-out after no team could break the 1 – 1 deadlock in 120 minutes of play.

Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli will officiate this match as we edge closer to the grand finale at Stade de France in Saint Denis.

Like the other semi-final between Portugal and Wales its difficult to pick a winner. I do think that both teams will score though, so this looks like good value at 2.11. France have conceeded goals against both Ireland and Iceland in the knockout stages. So I can see the Germans getting through the french defence. Offensively its hard also to not envisage either Griezmann, Giroud, Payet or Pogba finding the back of the net.

Recommended Tip: Both Teams to Score YES, Best Odds 2.11 @ 188Bet
